Another Way Round Dyslexia is a widely acknowledged learning difficulty, so how is it
that so many children, young people and adults manage to get the whole
way through education without anyone identifying it?The easy
answer is because there are many misconceptions surrounding Dyslexia,
what it actually means and how it manifests or rather conceals itself on
a daily basis. People with Dyslexia are intelligent and develop a range
of strategies’ and coping mechanisms without even realising it.
Ironically
Dyslexia is not necessarily what stops someone achieving their
potential, the biggest barrier becomes knocked confidence as a result ofundiagnosed dyslexia and the daily loses a person with Dyslexia
experiences. Dyslexia should not be a reason for slow progress, or poor
attainment much can be done to minimise the impact.Another Way Round plans to change the future for people experiencing
Dyslexia offering services to support parents and schools in better
understanding; whether a child may be experiencing specific
difficulties with learning, and how to support them in moving forward.
